Delete your account and data

Twinema · Last updated: August 1, 2026

You can delete your account and data at any time. There are two ways to do it.

1. In the app (fastest)

  1. Open Twinema
  2. Go to the Profile tab
  3. Tap Delete account at the bottom
  4. Confirm

Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone after you confirm.

2. By email

If you cannot access the app — for example, because you changed phones, removed the app, or cannot sign in — email us:

ilter6282@gmail.com

Subject: Account deletion request
Tell us whether you used Google or Apple, your Twinema display name, and roughly when you last used the account. We do not store your email address, so we cannot locate an account from email alone; we will reply with secure verification steps. Never send your password or sign-in token.

We complete email requests within 30 days. Deletion in the app is immediate.

Delete data without deleting your account

You can delete some of your data without closing your account. In the app:

If you want us to delete specific data, or if you cannot access the app, email ilter6282@gmail.com. Use Data deletion request as the subject and tell us what you want deleted. We complete requests within 30 days.

What is deleted

What may remain on your device

In-app account deletion clears session tokens and that account's pending offline queue. An account-independent random installation analytics identifier, permission-primer/Install Referrer “read” marker, and an unused invite code may remain in the device's secure app storage. They do not carry the deleted account's sign-in identity and are managed by the device's app and secure-storage mechanisms.

What remains and why

If your recommendation-pool setting is off, your pool contribution is completely deleted with your account. If the setting is on, your pool contribution is updated before ratings linked to your account are deleted, and the internal user reference is permanently replaced with a random identifier that cannot be linked back to your account. In other words, the fact that “movie 5 received a rating of 8” remains, but the fact that you gave that rating does not.

Twinema's recommendations come from similarities between people's ratings. If every rating disappeared completely, contributions from everyone who came before would gradually erode. The contribution retained when your setting is on has no identity attached and cannot be used to identify you.

Records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices and payment records, are retained for the period required by law. Encrypted backups age out within no more than 90 days. Reports and feedback may remain with identity fields removed. Account-linked usage counters, provider-alert deduplication entries, and individual/pair experiment arms containing the user are deleted with the account. PostHog/Sentry records do not contain the account identifier, so they cannot be matched automatically to account deletion and may remain under those services' retention settings. Security access logs containing a masked IP network prefix, path, and time may also remain until their rotating retention expires, for no more than 90 days.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. Google Play or the App Store manages your subscription, so you must cancel it there:
