A film app that finds your taste twin.

Most recommenders say “you like this genre, here are more of those.” Twinema finds your taste twin instead: it compares your rating history with a large pool of anonymous ratings and gives every film a personal predicted score from 1 to 10.

It also builds one list for two people, and for groups of up to five with Pro, so “what do we all want to watch” gets settled too.

Twinema helps you discover films; it does not play movies inside the app.

1. Behaviour, not genre.

   It finds people who rate the same films the same way you do. What they loved and the crowd overlooked is probably what you will love too.

2. A predicted score.

   Every film gets a personal prediction from 1 to 10. Not “popular”, not “highly rated”: rated highly for you.

3. Built for two, and for groups.

   One list from your combined taste: two people free, up to five with Pro.

4. Your data is not locked in.

   Import your own Letterboxd export (CSV).

5. A calm business model.

   No paywall that opens on its own, no countdown timers, no purchase screen you cannot dismiss.

• No password, and no email address is stored. You sign in with Google or Apple, or try the app without an account.
• Your ratings can contribute anonymously to the recommendation pool, and nobody in it is ever identified. One tap in settings turns this off and deletes your contribution from the pool.
• Comments are visible only to you and to friends you have accepted.
• Analytics never receives message or comment text. Automatic screen and touch capture and session replay are off.
• Servers are in Germany (Hetzner); backups are in the EU.
• You can delete your account from your profile, with no step beyond confirming.

Recommendations are computed against more than 3.6 million anonymous rating records compiled from public sources, across a catalogue of more than 100,000 films. Figures as of 29 September 2026.
